25 pounder

EL00343

John Dalton (F65) writes: "Whilst up at Glasgow reading Veterinary Medicine I had the opportunity to "scrounge" a weekend trip to Larkill. As I wasn't in the Army Corps up there my ticket was sealed by the fact that I had received 25-pounder training. Thus an expenses paid trip to Larkhill and thus home in Salisbury to help stretch my grant. As a different e-mail (I don't have the technological skill to cobble the two together!) is the perfect reason for military training!"

Henry Baynham on tow path

EL00345

John Dalton (F65) writes: Henry Baynham weaving his way along the towpath whilst "training" the Hockey crew for their race against the Boat Club and the corollary of him in gaol in the resultant hockey match. The wet bobs had to row single handed and the hockey players played in boxing gloves. No doubt Health and Safety would prohibit such goings on now!
