Re the little badge - the mythical beast depcted holding a mace is the Wyvern, part of the county of Somerset crest and the WSM is the town of Weston super Mare,  Thats about all I can see even though my original is larger than the copy I sent you. Both the officer and all the Cadets are wearing Somerset Light Infantry cap badges. For interest I attach the shoulder insignia worn by Somerset Army Cadets during the later war years through until the late 1970,s (Richard Cornish)
