Newspaper cutting from the Daily Sketch showing a large photo of Lt David English returning from the Korean War where he had been a prisoner. He is holding a teddy bear for his (as yet unmet) two year-old sister who is running towards him with outstretched arms.

Donated by Julian Ashby (SH53), former Chairman of Cambridge Canfordians. Draft of Cambrige Letter written in early 1959 but never published as the Canfordian appears to have published the last one in Autumn 1958.

Letter from John Boyle (son) to John Lever dated 2005 giving details of his father, Hamilton Boyle, one of the founding pupils. Letter includes several photos of Canford buildings and one of two pupils looking at the Speech Day prizes on a table. Also contemporary photo of prize book awarded to HB in 1926 for Maths.

Embossers

Four embossers of various vintage used to impress paper with a distinctive mark 1. 'Wimborne 11'. This was the telephone number for the Guest family (and later the Canford Headmaster) so was probably bought by them to put theie number at the top of letters 2. 'Canford School Limited'. Used by the bursary. A new embossing head has been fixed to a Victorian embosser decorated with gold flowers 3 'Canford School Society Limited' A more recent embosser: plain, heavy and black 4 'Cheneford Limited' Much smaller, more modern silver and bright blue embosser, Numbers 2, 3 and 4 were donated by Tim Brown in 2022, the Director of Finance

Macnutt personal memorabilia

The box itself is black, metallic and lockable. It has 'J.S.MACNUTT' painted in white on the side and includes family photos, his birth and marriage certificate, his degree from Trinity College Dublin, his ordination certificate and two inscribed metal plaques taken off unknown objects. One is from his congregation in Weston-Super-Mare and one is from the boys of Seaford College.. Also includes a short family tree and correspondence between Frank Ahern and Hugh Hayward, great-nephew to JSM, who donated the items.
