We have had a very full fixture card this season, but have, unfortunately, been able to arrange only one 1st XV inter-school match, that against Clays more, but the second XV and Colts have both been able to arrange School fixtures. It was unfortunate that owing to the frost we had to cancel the match against Bristol University and the return of the second XV against Osborne House School, but these were the only two. The main difficulty this term has been the composition of the first game, there being a big difference between that and the other games. The first Yeovil match showed promise of a good fifteen. This hope has not been realized. The high-water mark was reached when we ran the United Services to one try when at home to them. After this match it looked as though our fortunes had turned, but we failed to gain an easy victory over Yeovil in the return by sheer lack of staying power and dash. The Tank Corps brought down only an average fifteen, but it provided a good game to watch. Of the Clays more match something has been written below. In the return with the Trojans at Swathing the School was unfortunate and the score is by no means representative of the run of the play; there was far more life among the three-quarters. Another difficulty that has confronted the team has been the composition of the three-quarter line, of which the tackling has been very weak all the term. The Lower School has been divided into “Leagues”; a Colts game and first game have also been arranged, and a “pick-up” for those who had not gained a place in any of the other games. Occasional “form “and other matches have been arranged, but these have been somewhat handicapped by" epidemics " of colds.
