This Saturday, Canford Boat Club will be hosting its annual House Regatta and Boat Club Dinner, a formal Canford event for at least the past 50 years in which the houses go head-to-head to battle it out for the coveted Inter-House Rowing trophies. In honour of the occasion, we look back at the House Regatta that took place 17 years ago, back in 2007. Wimborne House took home the most trophies that day, winning the Senior Girls Single-Scull, Senior Girls Double-Scull, with the Wimborne parents team blowing the Lancaster parents out of the water! School House maintained their reputation by winning the Senior Boys Single-Scull for the fifth year running, with Franklin coming in close second. The Monteacute Senior Boys team took home the winning trophy for their race, again Franklin coming in a close second there! But Franklin didn't lose out entirely, the Shell and 4th Boys put on an excellent show winning both of their races.
Always a memorable event, we look forward to welcoming parents back this weekend for the House Regatta and Boat Club dinner. Good luck to everyone taking part this year, and here's to hoping for the same beautiful weather that they had for the event back in 2007! Can you spot yourself in any of these photos?
