Many enjoyable evenings have been held this term, and the arrival of the new school gramophone excited much interest. Mr. Simpson gave an interesting talk, illustrated with records, half-way through the term. It was unfortunate that our last two meetings had to be cancelled, but it is hoped that M. White (O.C.) who was to have spoken on the last Sunday of term, will be able to come next term instead. Among other records played during the term were Symphony No. 7 by Beethoven, with a talk by Mr. Leonard, Symphony No. 5 by Dvorak (From the New World) with a talk by A. M. Young (Hon. Sec.), and excerpts from ' lolan the' with a talk by J. G. Thompson. M. E. Lacey's talk on Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2 for piano and orchestra unfortunately had to be postponed.
