The greatly increased number of trout in the river (and out) is the most promising feature in this term's fishing activities. This is probably the result of returning to the water many young trout caught last season, and of killing coarse fish ; and we have scrupulously followed this policy. It is hoped that as a result the Canford waters will be teeming with trout next year. Among the forty-five members there are a number who are exceptionally keen, though unfortunately some of these found the worm to be deadly, and were inclined to scorn the more delicate art of fly-fishing.
